Your Online Reputation

I was able to find several accounts connected to Tyler, but he has not posted many things on them, but it could be that I couldn’t see the entirety of his pages because we aren’t connected on any of his accounts. I was able to locate professional information, as well as details of his personal information.
One of the first things to come up when you type Tyler Grow, UT, is Tyler’s professional Linkedin profile. From his profile I learned that he is a Communication Assistant at Utah State University, and he creates communication and marketing materials for the university’s Office of Research and Graduate Studies. He has also had a job at Mountainside Fitness working as a staff accountant. He has lots of endorsed skills such as Microsoft Excel, Adobe Creative Suite, and Graphic Design. From these skills I can assume that Tyler is really good with working on computers. He has a well-established and professional account.

Tyler enjoys baseball, and is a fan of the Arizona Diamondbacks.

I also found that he loves his family and posts many pictures with his parents, and of his nieces and nephews.

From Facebook I found programs he likes, and from pictures and from the t-shirts he wears, I think he likes to joke around and watch funny movies.

While Tyler hasn’t posted a lot of pictures or videos, I was able to learn a little about him and his personality. I did find a lot of professional information on his Linkedin profile, and I didn’t find anything that would make me not want to hire him.

Letter To Cousin

Dear Molly,
This semester I am in a technical and professional communications class. I am very excited for this class and wanted to share a little of what I have learned about it with you. I know that you are interested in this field of study, and that you would like to know more about it.
Professional communication is all the ways that you communicate with other people in a professional setting. It can be done in several different ways such as speaking directly, in various forms of writing such as email, memo, text, etc. It can also be done through listening and responding to the messages you have received. We use professional communication all the time, whether it be at school when communicating with our teachers by asking them questions in class, or sending them emails outside of class.  We use it at work when going through interview processes, communicating with our bosses, and fellow employees.
The technical aspect of technical and professional communication comes into play whenever we are using a source of technology to do the communicating. Because technology is ever increasing, so are the ways to communicate with technology. We can use email and text messaging, but there is also so much communication happening through all different forms of social media, apps, and websites.  A huge advantage to technical communication is how easy it is to access it, and because of that it is very important to make sure that the information you are conveying is correct and understandable for your desired audience. We do that through communicating professionally.
Like I have stated, professional communication is how you communicate on a professional level, and technical communication is the means you communicate through. It is important to do so in a clear, and easy to understand manner, to help improve the quality of your communication with others. You need to pay attention to small things such as grammar and spelling. Proof reading is essential to good technical and professional communication.
I hope what I have shared has helped you to understand a little more about this topic, and may have helped you to want to take a class like this sometime in the future as you start to think about what kind of classes you would like to take when you attend Utah State this spring. I am very excited to have you here at school and hope that we might be able to discuss this more the next time I see you.
Love you cousin,
Karlee
